Product Overview

The Mobile VX 120 (Mobile VX) is a mobile or fixed mount computer designed for the most adverse environments. The wireless MOBILE VX with full PC functionality gives any company the ability to bring the data to the shipping\receiving dock, in the warehouse, and outside in the yard. If you need a tough unit for the most demanding material handling applications, there is only one choice: The INDUCOMP Mobile VX 120 (MOBILE VX).

DC Power

The Mobile VX unit comes standard with a wide range DC-DC internal power supply. The power supply ranges from 9 to 60 VDC input. This becomes important to any customer who has multiple types of power on various types of equipment (i.e. forklift). Some warehouses might have 12VDC and 36VDC on forklifts in the same building. The wide range power supply prevents accidental damage to the Mobile VX when moving it from one forklift that is out of service to another forklift with a different power source.

Internal Heater

An optional internal heater can be ordered on the Mobile VX. This heater gives the Mobile VX the ability to operate in cold enviorments that would range from 32°F to –30°F. This option is typlicaly use in freezer or outdoor applications.

Connectivity

The MOBILE VX offers a wired or 802.11 b\g wireless network connection. With INDUCOMP’s custom long-range antenna, coverage is greatly improved over the standard antennas or even board level antennas.

Hard Drive Technologies

The modular design allows for the convenient swap-out of solid-state hard drives. Spinning drives are never recommended for vehicle-mount environments. No matter how well a vibration and shock dampening is applied, rotating drives will fail. They were not designed for these applications. Using the industrial solid-state drives gives the reliability that you expect for such a mobile and rugged application.

High Resolution Display

In addition, a bright 12.1” (30.73cm) TFT SVGA color display simplifies user interaction with touchscreen capabilities and color graphics. A daylight readable display option is also available to allow easier viewing in direct sunlight.

Rugged, Tested Design

The MOBILE VX has a rugged cast aluminum housing that adheres to the NEMA 4X/IP65 specifications. The MOBILE VX can withstand extreme harsh environments, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures. The MOBILE VX has been used in freezer, outdoor, abrasive, and washdown environments. It is truly a rugged device.

Barcode and RFID Scanning Support

The Mobile VX supports most USB and RS-232 barcode and RFID scanners.  Various models are available from INDUCOMP. Laser scanners include short-range and long-range scanners, Image scanners, RFID fixed and portable scanners and wireless scanners.

Application Support

State-of-the-art, industry-standard development tools that are used in a thick or thin application, such as Microsoft’s .NET Compact Framework, Visual C++™, Visual Basic™, Java® and HTML™ can be used with the MOBILE VX.
